This application if for congregations looking to send their youth to the 2024 ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans, Louisiana. The money raised for this effort comes from various donors that have a generous heart and want to see young people on fire for Jesus Christ, experiencing faith formation. This is such a phenomenal opportunity and a blessing to have so many generous folks assist us in this effort. To ensure equity, we are looking for those who would like to have access to the funds apply below. It is imperative that you complete the application fully.
A few important facts:
1.) Only 1 representative for the church should apply for funding. This can be a rostered or lay leader (preferably the person that will be registering the youth for the gathering). Even if there is only one youth at the church attending the gathering, a church representative must complete the application on their behalf (for questions, please contact Tyra Dennis via youthministry@socalsynod.org)
2.) You must submit proof of gathering registration with this application. If you have not registered for the gathering, please do that prior to asking for funding as the application will not allow you to move forward. You only need to pay the deposit for each person when registering. (If this is a concern to you, please reach out to Tyra Dennis via youthministy@socalsynod.org)
3) Please indicate if you are planning on attending the MYLE or tAble pre-events. While there are national scholarships for these events, we want to ensure that in the event you are not awarded one, you still have the funding that you need to get you youth to those events.
