Ascension, Los Angeles and Another Level Ministries joined together for worship on Sunday, January 28, and afterwards held their Inaugural “Mac Yo’ Cheese” cook-off and competition.
Another Level, which shares Pastor Jonathan Hemphill with Ascension and was birthed out of a Thursday night Bible study that ignited hearts, souls, and minds alike, is a ministry whose mission is to help people cope with life’s changes, experiences, and social climates through life groups, mentoring/discipleship, and the preached Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since the two groups collaborate for mission by sharing one pastor in one facility, they decided to get to know each other better by creating collaborative events outside of worship to help congregants meet and greet. What better way to bring people together than with yummy food and friendly competition?
After a spirited joint worship service at 10:30 a.m, the eating and judging began with 12 entries, four guest judges, and two awards – the Judges’ Prize and the People’s Choice.
