From Holy Trinity, Thousand Oaks
Thank you so much for awarding Holy Trinity Lutheran Church a grant to help our congregation with the Food Distribution program we are now hosting! That money will help to pay for extra cleaning supplies, paper towels, disposable gloves, Lysol and other unexpected expenses we have had.
Three of our wonderful church volunteers arrive every single day to set up the tables and get the lunches ready. They wear their face masks and gloves. Tables are set-up outside to respect the physical distancing.
Other church members (and also members from other churches in the neighborhood) drive by and drop off lunches each day between 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Anyone in the community is invited to drive by or walk by between 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. and pick up a lunch.
The City of Thousand Oaks has provided a Hand Washing Station that we have outside next to the tables for people to wash their hands before they pick up their lunch as well as for general hygiene. We have also been assisted by food donations from Gelson’s Market, Starbucks, Trader Joes and Chick-fil-A. We have a generous community!
