Emmanuel, North Hollywood, in partnership with the All Valley Youth Soccer Club, sponsored a “God’s Work Our Hands” Sunday Food Drive. It was a huge success! We collected an amazing 1500 pounds of food!
Volunteers from Emmanuel and the All Valley Youth Soccer Team both collected food and were on hand Sunday, September 13 in masks and gloves to retrieve bags of food from the trunks of contributing member’s cars. They also sorted the items into categories before boxing and bagging them for delivery on Monday to the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry (NHIFP).
We had four families stop by to request food assistance which we were happy to provide from the donated items. The NHIFP gives out an impressive 6,000-7,000 pounds of food each month!
At the present time, NHIFP is having difficulty getting food for distribution as the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank inventory is low due to increased demand during the pandemic and its economic fallout, and some other food warehouses are currently closed. Our donations were much appreciated!
